Mother’s Day

Today is mother’s day. Second Sunday of May. I love being a mom. I love taking care of my children. I love teaching them what is right and what is wrong. I love teaching them some values such as respect, honesty and empathy. I’m so lucky to have healthy children. Whenever I’m sad, I remind myself that my children, my family and I are healthy. This is the best gift ever. I get super excited when I watch my son playing soccer and my daughter playing beach tennis. I cheer for them! I support them! I encourage them to achieve their goals. I do my best to be a good mom. I try to be as present as possible. I try to be patient and understanding.

I hope they can find a job they love and a job they are good at. I hope they can be as lucky as me. I love my job and I’m good at it. This makes all the difference in the world! I hope they can travel and see the world. I hope they can have real and good friends. I hope they will not be afraid of becoming who they want to become. I wached a Ted talk about faking it until you become it. Quite interesting. Another Ted talk that I watched said that when people can’t push themselves, their moms will. They said mothers were invented to push their children. That’s so right. We, as mothers, should help our children leave their comfort zone and push themselves. Some children don’t need mothers to push themselves. However, others do. If my children need my help, I hope to be there ready to help them.

As some say, mother’s day is every single day and not only the second Sunday of May. Finally, I want to thank my mom for everything she does for me. I thank my mom for all the efforts she makes to help me and to see me happy. I get sad when I think that my mom’s mom died so young. This should never happen. Children should never lose their moms so early. I hope I can live a long life to see my children grow up and succeed. Another Ted talk showed a guy who almost died in a plane crash and he said that his main goal in life is to be the best parent he can be. I’m with him. Above all, my goal is to be the best parent I can be.
