Believe it or not, one year has passed. My family and I went to Australia, stayed in Sydney for one year and came back! Back to our routine in Porto Alegre. Everything is the same here. Nothing has changed. It seems that we weren’t away for such a long time. However, a lot of things have changed inside of us. We realised that we can achieve our goals if we have a clear plan. We learned that nothing is impossible if you really want it. You have to be persistent, determined, focused and organized. You have to believe in your dreams and never give up! I had a dream. I wanted to teach English in Sydney in a great school with students from different countries. I managed to do it! I worked for Greenwich College and it was a wonderful experience! I had students from all over the world! They loved me! I am so proud of myself! I am also proud of my children! They attended a new school in a new city and made lots of new friends. They improved their English and enjoyed this adventure on the other side of the world! I only wish Brazil were like Australia. No inequality. No crime. No violence. No poverty. Opportunities for everyone. Quality of life. Support from the government. A non-corrupt government. Excellent public transportation. Kids and teens using public transportation by themselves. Freedom. Safety. No prejudice. Be what you want to be. Do what you want to do. Respect. Natural beauty. No pollution. Fresh air. Clean water. Clear air. Stores closing early. Parents finishing work early. Parents spending time with their kids. Sports. Lots of sports for everyone everywhere. I hope it doesn’t take 25 more years for me to go back to downunder. Downunder = nickname for Australia 🙂
